Aeronca Super Chief

1948 Aeronca 11CC Super Chief G-BTRI is the only Super Chief flying in the UK and still has its original continental C85 engine. It is in good condition and is an economical way into vintage tailwheel flying. It has a 35ft span, so is big! It is fairly simple to de-rig, but it is ready to fly away. Paintwork 8/10 Interior 8/10 Annual Permit renewal completed May 2026 Currently positioned at Breighton, N.Yorks 1862 hours airframe and engine. 30 hours on the monogrammed Hercules propeller. Extensive history file. Handheld radio mounted on panel, no transponder. The unique selling point is the fully functioning McDowell Safety Starter - we think it is the only one in Europe. Makes starting a breeze! Swing the propeller from the safety of the cabin. Group disbanding to persue other interests.
