For an owner or engineer with the skills and enthusiasm to undertake much of the restoration personally, this represents an opportunity to return a distinctive early DR400 to the air, with the benefit of the more useful 150 hp O-320 installation and a known history extending back more than half a century. Substantial maintenance records and supporting documentation survive, including original engine documentation from 1972–1979 and then from 1990 current engine overhaul onwards. Early Aircraft Logbooks 1–3 and engine records covering the period between 1979 and 1996 are not present. Later Aircraft logbooks are available. The documentation records decades of operation, maintenance and previous engine overhaul work and is accompanied by a considerable collection of supporting technical paperwork. This is a 1972 Avions Pierre Robin DR400, a relatively early example of the highly regarded French four-seat touring aircraft. Originally built as a lower-powered DR400, the aircraft was subsequently upgraded with a Lycoming O-320-E2A engine to 150hp. She has a long history of private ownership. Earlier owners included Headcorn Flying School. The aircraft operated with a French flying club before its acquisition by the present owner in 2025.
