Piper PA-17 Vagabond

BY is a is a delightful dual control tailwheel trainer aircraft that was subject to a full 'tyres up' rebuild in the mid 90s. Part of the 'Cub' family, BY was upgraded with the more powerful Continental C-85 engine, hydraulic disc toe-brakes, uprated sealed wingstruts, roof skylight, Skytec starter, and Evra 181/107 prop. Covered in Ceconite 101 and with a cellulose finish, BY is in overall good condition. Airframe 2052hrs, Engine 1136hrs (277hrs since top-end overhaul). Permit to July 27. I bought BY 18 months ago as my tailwheel tutor and gateway to vintage aviation. I flew my conversion last June working between Rufforth and Breighton, then settled at the grass microlight strip at Baxby near Thirsk in North Yorkshire. BY has since been a fabulous and forgiving 'stick & rudder' confidence and experience builder in the circuit, and a capable 100mph cross-country tourer around Yorkshire.
